Saga Kakala

Saga Kakala is an Icelandic accessories brand that releases limited edition collections in collaboration with artists and designers. The brand’s creative director Ingibjörg Gréta Gísladóttir asked Karlssonwilker to create a collection of silk scarves, giving us a great canvas on which to further explore our studio’s investigations into abstract computer graphics imagery. Our process consisted of learning the basics about the properties of different silk fabrics and its production, then launching into a focused, yet playful, exploration of hundreds of sketches. We landed on six designs, consisting of 3D distortions, shapes, and asymmetric volumes, each within a distinct color way.
