Bakabaka is one of Reykjavik's most popular bakeries where both locals and tourists gather over coffee and artisanal bread and pastries. Karlssonwilker was given carte blanche to create a visual identity that would span across signage, printed material, and product, as well as the venue's interior.

Taking the communal act of breaking bread as inspiration, we intertwined and jumbled the letters of the bakery's name in abstract constellations that sometimes resemble playing stick figures, or gingerbread men, and sometimes take on the shape of braided Scandinavian pastries. The designs are used for the logotype and signage and also show up in various patterns on printed collateral like menus and packaging as well as wallpaper for the interior.
