Wolf-Gordon: Neocon & Ad Campaign, 2014

This is the third in the series of Wolf-Gordon temporary sculptures installed at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart for the annual NeoCon Design Fair. As in years past, the marketing campaign revealed the creative process: ads from January to May featured Wolf-Gordon wallcovering and upholstery, and served as teasers that hinted at the form that would be unveiled at the fair in June. The 2014 sculpture weighed 3,400 pounds and was composed of 144 Wolf-Gordon products applied to 12 identical forms entwined to look like a floating ribbon.

Additional design, fabrication, and installation of the sculpture done by the fabulous people at Guild.

Photographs of the sculpture by James Shanks.
