The Icelandic schnapps, Brennivín, also known as “black death,” recently expanded to America. On the occasion of its stateside debut, we updated the Brennivín brand: reworking the original logo, redesigning the labels, designing collateral and brand merchandise, and changing the bottle back to its original clear glass. One of the seemingly smaller adjustments to the logo was adding the southwestern island of Heimaey to Iceland’s silhouette. Now the island’s 4,400 inhabitants are rightfully represented.


Our brand update for Brennivín US has quickly been adopted by Ölgerðin Egill Skallagrimsson, Brennivín’s distillery, for worldwide use.
